A local mortgage broker contacted me to do a home portrait for one of his clients who had bought their first home and purchased their mortgage through him. Real estate in the lower mainland in British Columbia can be a challenging market to penetrate, and it is always a feat to finally enter it. A condominium on the west coast can easily be the price of a detached home elsewhere in the country, and the broker wanted to mark the occasion for his clients in an extra special way – with an original painting.
A customized home portrait was requested and photos submitted. Prior to this piece, I had never painted a condominium building before, and I had a lot of fun with the angles and colour.
This commission measured 8 x 10”.
